As you have already realized, I really like cars and everything that is connected with them and it doesn’t matter where the steering wheel is located. If you and I move beyond the Ural Mountains to the regions of Russia, there left-hand drive cars may be in the minority, even ambulances and other special services have the steering wheel on the right side. In that part of Russia, people are used to right-hand drive and have been driving their favorite «Japanese» for decades. And as a rule this right-hand drive fashion came to Russia not from a good life of motorists, but because on a ratio of price and quality these cars win among other manufacturers and buyers vote for right-hand drive with their wallets. If people could all afford good modern cars with left-hand drive, then of course this issue would not arise, but while car enthusiasts optimize their budgets as they can.

Here and I became a fan of cars with right-hand drive, there are a lot of advantages in Japanese cars, economy, a large number of options that are not yet found in a similar class of cars of European manufacturers, reliability, durability, technology and of course the cost. I had 8 Toyota cars and 6 of them with right-hand drive, I know firsthand what they are true Japanese cars and I can say with certainty that these cars are not inferior to European, American or Korean cars. The skill of driving a right-hand drive car is acquired quickly enough and does not affect the safety of driving as it is presented. The probability of getting into an accident in my opinion is the same with right or left hand drive, it is important to be attentive and not to make risky maneuvers on the road.

I am categorically against the ban or restriction on the use and import of right-hand drive cars! Recently on this occasion we gathered at a rally in St. Petersburg at the SSC, in my opinion there were about 300 people, we declared our disagreement with this decision!  Attempts of the state to prohibit this type of transport were before, but now these initiatives are taking shape of a real threat of adoption of normative documents and acts mandatory for execution.  Here is the material https://goo.su/nSsA  dedicated to this issue, and next to my small fleet of cars and photos from the rally to protest against these initiatives of the state!
