Alexei was detained on formal grounds, on failure to fulfill the conditions of control visits to the FSIN quoted from the publication RBC:
“In 2014, Navalny was sentenced to a suspended sentence in the case of “Yves Rocher Vostok”. It ended in 2018, and the probation period was supposed to end on December 30, 2020. However, a few days before that, it became known about the claims to Navalny by the FSIN. The agency said that the oppositionist “does not fulfill the duties imposed on him by the court and evades the control of the penal inspection.” The FSIN pointed out that, according to the materials of the clinic “Charite”, Navalny was discharged on September 20, and on October 12, he was healthy. On January 12, it became known that in the Simonovsky district court of the capital appeared a case on the cancellation of probation.”

It is already clear that his detention, change of the airport of arrival of the plane, blocking the access of those meeting him to the Sheremetyevo terminal is a well-planned action of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the authorities were simply afraid of a popular political opponent full of strength and gaining popularity recently
Perhaps now we all wonder that being at liberty but in another country, but in safety Alexei would be more useful to his homeland, perhaps this development of events took place, if in Alexei’s place would be another person, a person not so principled, not so confident in the truth and legality of his actions, not so resolute in the fight against the decay of the political system of Russia, not so determined in the fight against the decay of the political system of Russia, not so loving Russia, in other words it would be a completely different person not like the Alexei we all are.
